Kumul Rawab
Kumul Rawab is also a kind and basically the same as Dolan Rawab.But its structure is different.
It consists of a head,a long handle with tunes on it,a short handle without tunes on it and ears.The ear
stand is in the form of a triangle and there are six ears on it.The upper part of its handle is made in the same
way without any tunes like the Dolan Rawab.The lower part is wider and there are fourteen tunes on it.
Kumul Rawab is usually made of the wood of mulberree.Its head is made out of wood by carving
the inside and it is a bit bigger and oval—shaped.Diameter of its head is between twenty and twenty three
centimeters.The length of the handle without tunes is frfteen centimeters and the part with tunes is twenty
eight centimeters.It is about eighty five centimeters long.
On the surface of Kumul Rawab the skin of donkey and horse were used and the twined bowel was
used as strings.Now snake skin is used on the face and steel used as strings.It has thirteen strings.The
first six strings are mainly used for playing and the rest are used for echoes.The first two strings are
adjusted to dl,the third and founh strings are adjusted to gl,the fifth and sixth ones are adjusted to d and G
tunes.In is played with a plectrum on the right hand by pressing the tunes with the left hand.It is held in the
arms with certain Slope when played.
There is also some beautiful fretwork carved on it It is called Kumul Rawab because it is mostly used
in the region of Kumul.
