ئۇيغۇر چالغۇ ئاتالغۇلىرى Diltar Diltar iS a an inStrument with double functions whiCh haS emerged in recent years．It was made by Mr． Abdullah Mejnun in Xinjiang Muqam Ensemble inl986． Diltar is made of the Wood of mulberry and pear trees．It is an instrument with the functions of both boW instrument and stringed instrument．It is 150centimeters long and it has thirty steel strings．The longer pan of its handle which is used as boW instrument is 120centimeters with fourteen stribgs．of these fourteen strings，only one is used for the main melody and the rest are uSed for echo．And it is played with a boW by putting it in the bosom．The shorter pad of the handle is used as a stringed insstrument with the length of 85 centimeters．This pan has 16strings and it makes loud，1ively sound．The two main strlngs are adjusted to the tone of el and a．the rest are used for echo and played with a plectrum(pick)putting in the bosom． The head of Diltar is big and oval—shaped．The head is designed for making echo sound for both functions．It is made by carving the Wood inside and on the surface thin Wooden planking is attached．On the lower part of its head a shape of a flying eagle is put and it adds certain beauty to it ．This also balances and Stabilizes the Diltar．on the surface of itS head Certain musiCal ShapeS and frtetWork iS added． ItS adjuStmentS： the longer panstrings：①(2)(3)(4)(5)(6)(7)(8)(9)(10) (11) (12)(13) (14)， tunes： a a b c1 d1 e1 f1 g1 a1 b1 C2 d2 e 2 f2， the shorter pan strings：①②③④(5)(6)(7)(8)(9)(10) (11) (12) (13) (14) (15) (16)， tunes ： e1 a g a b c1 d1 e1 f1 g1 a1 b1 c2 d2 Diltar was liSted as the patented inStrument in 1988 and in the same year it was inCluded in the Exhibtion of Chinese HandcranS and MuSiCal InStrumentS in Tokyo and London and warmly welcomed by the people．The Muqam which was played with Diltar was awarded with second prize nationally and first priZe regionally．
