in, at or to some place that you do not know or do not mention by name:
I've seen him somewhere before. * Can we go somewhere warm? * I've already looked there-it must be somewhere else. * He went to school in York or somewhere (= I'm not sure where). * They live somewhere or other in France.
HELPNOTE The difference between somewhere and anywhere is the same as the difference between some and any. Look at the notes there.
somewhere (AmE also someplace) pronoun:
We need to find somewhere to (= a place to) live. * I know somewhere we can go.
