ئۇيغۇر چالغۇ ئاتالغۇلىرى Tabilwaz Tabilwaz (waist drum)is a kind of drum．Drums were invented very long ago and they laid the foundation for the invention of many other musical instrument． As a kind of drum in the family of percussion instruments，there were two kinds of it ．one was War Tabilwaz and the other was Tune Tabilwaz．The War Tabilwaz was used during the wars．It was usually hung around the neck and played with two hands while marching during the war and also used during any festivity．The Tune Tabilwaz was played to accompany the music and dancing by sitting on the ground．The present—day Tabilwaz is about 35 centimeters tall andthe diameter of its big head is about 25 centimeters． And the diameter of its small head is about 20 centimeters．There are two kinds of Tabilwaz．One si played only on one side and the other one is played on both sides．On both sides of it animal skin is stretched．NoW the skin of horse and donkey is used． Tabilwaz was played by hitting with hands in the earliest times．Later it began to be played with sticks and gradually Tambourine came into existence． ئۇيغۇر چالغۇ ئاتالغۇلىرى Tabihwaz It iS alSo played by hining．Somc of them have bigger Side，some have smaller side and they are all covered With animal Skin．Some of them are made With bigger Side and they are played by sitting on the ground With crossed legS．Then the performer puts the Tabilwaz on the legS and playS With handS．There iS a piCtUre of it in No．68 cave of Kumtura ThousaBd Caves．
